Re: How long did your walk through take?
45 minutes. Our sellers were awesome and took the time to show us how to use the pool filter, the sprinkler system and everything else we needed to know.

Re: How long did your walk through take? How were the brokers?
How long it takes really depends on the size of the house and the thoroughness of the buyer. I mean, a 3 room co-op isn't going to take much time, but a 12 room house might. I've had buyers who just like to walk through and glance at everything with a smile on their face, and others who will run every appliance, flush every toilet, etc. I would say a half hour is about average, but I've had final walkthroughs that have taken much longer... It's like the home inspection. Some inspectors are done in an hour and a half, others take 4 hours.
But my view of it is that it's the buyer's prerogative to take as long as they want. As a buyer, it's your last chance to see the property and point out any defects or issues before closing, so I think the buyer should be throrough. And if the seller's cooperative and doesn't mind, all the better. It's really not up the the listing agent to put a time parameter on it. He or she should be an observer and be there to support the sellers, but that's really it. Like every profession, there are good realtors, and then there are ones who are not so good and not so professional.
Sorry you felt rushed, but it sounds like you had a good relationship with the seller and got all of the info you needed. So all's well that ends well!
