My parents helped pay for some of college. They took care of me but once I got my first job, they stopped giving me money unless I really needed it. I have to admit, that the summer after I graduated college I didn't work and my dad supported me. He also supported me (didn't charge rent, paid for food, etc) as I went to grad school full time.

When I started working at 14, that was basically it.
When DH was 16, he started paying his family's mortgage, so I was always well off compared to his situation.
DH resents it, I am fine with it. I am my own person, if they had it, they would have given it. They were always there emotionally. Always at my games, my dad signed for my Jeep when I was 17, and luckily I was awarded a scholarship.
DH thinks you need more then just love from your parents, which is why he cut my wanted 4 kids down to 2.

They paid for part of my culinary school and my car insurance. To this day they try to contribute as much as possible; a bit towards the wedding and they buy tons of things for Christopher and for our home. Even though they're little things, they sure add up and DH and I are incredibly greatful.

There's too many of us, we were on our own as far as weddings and college.
Same here. It was never even a consideration that my mom (parents) would contribute to college or my wedding. They did the best they could.

Mine paid for Undergrad and a majority of the wedding.
I paid for grad school.
