What are you doing to your basement? And if you don't mind, how much is it costing? We just an estimate and we are not happy. I like my contractor (he's done my kitchen and both bathrooms) but I thought the price was high for the basement. I really want to price it out with someone else.

Our quote was $10,200, that includes all materials and labor. This is for walls, floors, ceiling, closets, electrical, lighting, etc. I guess I was suprised b/c my person gave us such good prices for the bathrooms recently that I was expecting something less.
I guess the cost isn't much different and b/c I know him and his work the difference of $1000 is really peace of mind for me. Sadly, we can't afford to do this work this year :(
Maybe next year!

No way! We went to Home Depot with Al and had everything delivered. His team started on Monday and by Friday it was done. The labor for this project was less than 1,500. It is stunning. Now when I have a huge BBQ, I never have to worry because we have so much covered space. Plus, the sky lights make it seem so bright. And the fan, I highly suggest a fan, makes it comfortable on even the hottest days!
Awesome! That's great to know. I'm def going to keep it in mind!
