Re: Ethical Question

If you value this person as a co worker....tell him.....knowing the past things that have happened it would be beneficial for him to know. He deserves the increase and if things go badly, he could lose a lot.

Re: Ethical Question

How would your telling him impact your job?
Should you know these things?
If you told said co-worker could it come back to negatively impact you?
If you told the co-worker, what do you think he would do with the information?
could you tell the co-worker to ask for the higher amount now?
how many months would the co-worker have to wait for the review? Is it more than 6 months?

Re: Ethical Question

I voted MYOB - I have access to similar types of information at my job and I would never ever do anything to jeopardize the trust my boss and the owners have in me. Yes, it would be nice to give out the tip, but not if it may ultimately cost you your job and/or the loss of respect of the people you work for or report to.

Re: .

Thanks to everyone for their help. Based on some of the things people wrote, I decided not to tell him but to prep him so he doesn't blow it. I'll let you know how it goes.
