Thanks everyone.
Just make sure you trust your vet and/or animal hospital. Now we are tending to think that when my dad told them they he couldnt afford the entire surgery, that they took it upon themselves to put the dog down. My dad said that they could do exploratory surgery to see what was going on in there but that if he needed his colon to be totally "fixed" that he couldnt pay for it (the overall surgery would have been 4000.00)...we have a feeling that they just wanted money and when they saw that they wouldnt get all of that from him (he would have paid in a heartbeat if it was affordable)...they put the dog down. We cant be sure of this but they were definately money hungry. When they guy called to tell my dad this morning, he wasnt even nice about it.
Its an awful feeling, especially so unexpected like this. My dad went to see him yesterday and although he was so sick, he wagged his tail when he saw my father which he hasnt done for days. Definately heartbreaking.
