Quitting Caffine
Is anyone else having a hard time giving this up? I am a tea drinker, I am switching to decaf for the most part, but in the morning I still need the caffine. Once I am pg I will give it up totally, but it is hard!

Yes I really love fountain soda. I had my last tall glass of coke yesterday and then got my bfp. I will definitely be missing it!

I have heard such mixed info. on this but I think everything in moderation. I guess I wouldn't want to take a chance but the truth is...I doubt a little caffine is gonna do that much harm. I mean caffine is in chocolate, tea, coffee soda. What the heck! I've heard 2 cups of jo is all good. I drink like a cup to 2 anyway. but i'm not pg  YET keeping the hope alive. good luck to you!

I quit caffeine cold turkey and after about 1 week I felt much better - now, if I dare have any caffeine, I get jumpy! it's amazing how caffeine is such a drug and you build up a tolerance to it - !

Omg I was a caffeine addict, if DH and i didn't have our coffee/tea in the am we fought like cats and dogs until we did.
That was the hardest part, what i did was slowly cut out the caffeine, there's no way i would have been able to do it cold turkey.
make 1/2 and 1/2 tea, or drink 3/4's, then 1/2 of the caffeinated tea, then slowly but surely switch to decaf. If i dare drink caffeine now, my heart poundds out of my chest!

My doctor says one cup of coffee a day is fine. I refuse to give that up (although, I'll mix half caff on the mornings I'm feeling "up" already)

My doc said 1 cup is OK, but I know 8oz will only make me want more so I went cold turkey. It blows but I'm surviving. You can do it!!!

Be careful qutting - I tried to quit cold turkey when i got PG, but had awful awful headaches. My OB actually prescribed caffeine to try and break my migraine cycles.

Mine too.
Its even in their literature about what you can and cant have.
I think through the years of more research it has become known to have less of an effect than they thought way back when.

Me too, I get debilitating headaches by 3 or 4 o'clock if I don't have some coffee......
If I happen not to have coffe in the AM and I remember in the afternoon, I run for some joe cuz I know a migraine's on the way if I don't!!!!

I tried to quit alltogether when I first got pregnant and I was miserable!
According to my doctor, one cup a day is fine, so that's what I have.

Did your dr tell you you had to quit?
I drank coffee like mad while TTC'ing and I had 2 cups a day while PG. Which my dr said was fine
