From what i have read, No, not if AF is in full force. But you can be pg, and have light flow/spotting around the time you would have gotten your AF.
I totally think when you read those stories of women who didn't know they were pg, just spotted throughout their pg and thought it was AF.

I bled off and on when I was pregnant with my daughter for the 1st 6-8 weeks. It was nerve racking. But it ended up being okay. It seemed like AF to me at times but clearly was not.

Agreed. Also they tend to be women a quite out of shape who don't notice the weight gain and due to their poor physical condition, they don't look "pregnant" either. So even with no AF, they just think AF is MIA and nothing unusual.

actually that really is a generalization that is not true
My good friend was 5 months PG and didn't know it.
SHE got light AF's She was NOT out of shape by any means I saw her myself almost everyday...She didn't begin to show until very late... "Poor physical condition" she was NOT.
IMO if you are getting your reg AF...YOUR NOT PG.
But if you are lightly bleeding and little cramps and are feeling other symptoms...maybe you should test.

I agree. My cousin was pregnant and get AF for two months and she was far from out of shape. It happens to some women but it is rare.

i also know someone who had the same situation. she was in ridiculous shape (actually tried out for the olympic team in her sport). she swears that she got AF for 2 months so she didn't know she was pregnant. now, i have no idea what the flow actually looked like (if it was light or spotting or what the color was). i wonder if she didn't just have very light periods to begin with, and just mistook pregnancy-related bleeding for AF...
