Short LP
Does anyone else have a short LP? According to my chart it was only 10 days this cycle. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Re: Short LP
Is this your first month charting? If you've noticed a pattern of short LP (10 days or less), then I would talk to the doctor about it.

Re: Short LP
if you LP is only 10-11 days you may have problems with an embryo implanting. My LP was about 10 or 11 days and my progesterone was measured at 5 when it should have been above 10. I am currently on progesterone supplements(crinone) and b vitamins which helo to extend the LP-this is VITAL when trying to get PG. If you have mentioned this to your Dr and he knows you are TTC and he has not done anything i would seriously consider switching dr's.

Re: Short LP
I charted last month really for the first time, and I noticed it was only 10 days. I guess I should wait and see what it is this month before telling my doctor? Or should I tell him now?

Re: Short LP
I would mention it now. As Melissa said, anything shorter than 10 days and you definitely have potential for complications.

If you are TTC you should call your Dr and tell him you want to be on progesterone supplements because of your short LP-my Dr said there are no negative side effects so it can't hurt. You have to be on it from O for it to be effective in a pregnancy

Re: Short LP
When I started temping my LP was 9-11 days. I started taking vitamin B6 and it did help (doesn't always help everyone) and it moved to 11-12 days. My progesterone was fine though. It's not always a problem. I took advice from girls on fertilityfriend.com and it worked for me! Good luck!

Re: Short LP
this is a potential concern of mine as well - i've just started charting, but i believe that my luteal phase is only 11 days long. i asked a similar question on the pregnancy board, and got some short luteal phase success stories (i.e., people who have conceived and carried a pregnancy with no problem).
putting it all together, my understanding is that short luteal phase may or may not be a problem for you if you have it. if you have it and are charting and timing intercourse well for 4-5 months and are not conceiving, then you might want to look into it further.

Thank you! I just don't want to get wrapped up in worrying about this yet.

Re: Short LP
I had issues with charting (as I already mentioned in your other thread) but I worried about my LP. From what I recall from FF, 10 days would be considered "the short side of normal" though I could be wrong.
I did start taking evening primrose oil and b6- I wanted to give those things a shot before going to the doctor. (I think you take the EPO from AF to O)
