Thank you so much everyone! It really helps to hear from women that have actually gone through it. DH and I had an appt today, we asked if we could know, but Dr said its too soon... he said at the level 2... its not until Dec so I guess we have some more time to think about it! Chat Icon

I didn't find out with my first child. I wanted the "surprise" of, "It's a ___" in the delivery room.

With my 2nd, I found out because I wanted to prepare my older child. I wanted him to form his connection to the baby because the concept of a baby being in my belly was to vague for him to understand (he was 2 1/2 at the time). I'm very glad we did that.

When I found out during the sonogram that is was another boy, we were thrilled and just as surprised as we were in the delivery room with the first. It didn't lose any impact knowing the sex before delivery.
