YOu never know how long/short it could take to get pg. I wouldn't put a specific time you wanted to have the baby, but rather a time you and DH agree is the time to start trying.
A baby anytime during the year is a blessing.
But if you did want a spring baby, you would need to conceive in JUne, July, August, Sept to have to baby be born in March, April, May & JUne.

Start TTC as soon as you know you want to TTC- you could get pg in the first shot, or it might take awhile. Don't go in with misconceptions about "how long" it might take.

Honestly, you can never tell how long it can take to get pregnant...even the best plans may not work. So I would TTC as soon as you and DH feel ready.

I am a total planner. We had timed for a June baby since I am a teacher. Unfortunately, what we didn't plan for was a miscarriage at 9 weeks. Now, all plans are out the window and all I plan for is a healthy baby sometime in the future.
TTC is stressful enough - try not to make yourself crazy "timing" it correctly, there are just soooo many variables!

I totally agree. SO many things can happen. Just pray for a healthy pregnancy!!! I was out for a while, but I'm back in because of health problems. You never know.

Re: Realistically, how soon to start TTC...
I agree. We were successful on our 2nd month TTC. I am older so we were not sure. Some younger girls have problems and still trying to get PG.
I think it depends on MANY things, your health, your DH/SO's health, your genetics, age, diet, etc.... so many factors. Then you have healthy women who cannot conceive and unhealthy ones (heavy drinkers/ smokers, etc...) who get PG right away and have healthy babies.
Life is totally unfair when it comes to TTC.
