when you get your BFP, and have to confirm it at the dr's
what kind of test do they do, is it always a blood test?

When I called my dr. after I got a BFP, they told me to get EPT or First Response, because thats all they would do at that opint anyway to confirm the pregnancy - I was only 5 wks pregnant at that point....

I only peed on a test as far as I know.
urine test only for me also. they also gave me an exam and he felt the size of my uterus and said "yep, your definitly pregnant". but i never got a blood test.

I did not have a blood test to confirm my pregnancy, the doctor did a urine test

My Dr. has to confirm it for the beta, to watch those numbers and to start the admin process within the military health system, which may be the same as starting the admin process for any insurance. I'm sure there are multiple other reasons.

They took 7 vials of blood & did a Beta & hcg test.
They also did a urinalysis, but the Beta levels are more telling.

1st pg, just blood test
2nd & 3rd pg, Beta's
My dr does it because most insurance companies want a confirmation of pg in the form of blood tests, at least that's what they told me.

That's what i said!!! Dr thinks it's totally a $$$$ thing with the insurance company! God forbid they pay for a copay that I am responsible for!!
