Question re: Charting and kits

Hi everyone! I've been on this board forever. But this month is FINALLY IT! I'm so excited just to get started already! I have a question for all of you which may sound very dumb and so I apologize in advance.

What is the advantage of charting or using the predictor kits over just BD'ing every other day from CD8 until you get or don't get AF? Besides being exhausted I mean DH is kind of disturbed by the idea of me stressing so much using charting or those kits because I am a nuerotic nut and I know these things will consume my life. But, at the same time, like everyone else, I want to get pg asap.

Thanks in advance so much. I appreciate all that I have learned on this board so much. I already have lists of what I am going to do this month from all of you....baby carrots, grapefruit juice, green tea etc........

Dh and I felt the same way you do about charting, stressing, obbessing etc.

I am a control freak! Charting allowed me to have some kind of "control" or knowledge over my cycle. I felt in the loop. With charting you can see exactly when you o, if you o, when to time intercourse and see patterns every month in your cycle so you know when af is coming.

I myself, only involved DH in the temping part, he had no clue or access to my charts, he didn't want to feel like a piece of meat. I would just seduce him, he was getting a piece, and I knew we had a good chance of getting pg. That's the key, don't let him know it's your fertile time, DH didn't care, he just wanted sex

I didn't use predictor kits or fertility monitors.
We just had sex during fertile times, temped and got pg. That's kinda the dumbed down version and for some easier said than done.

We consider ourselves very lucky for getting pg as fast as we did.

Thanks for the response. I totally hear ya! THe first month I'm going to just wing it but after that I will definitely start charting. So you do think there is a big advantage over just BD'ing every other day?
