Question about OPK

When are you supposed to start using them? I bought a box of the Clear Blue tests, and there are 7 in the box - am I supposed to be testing for a week? I also bought a basal thermometer... I not TTCing yet but want to start charing so I can understand my cycle better... and words of wisdom?

For now start charting your temp and your CM. CM will tell you the best when you are about to O.

I was supposed to O beginning of next week, but because I've been charting my CM I noticed a change and sure as sh!t I tested with an OPK and I started my surge.

If you're not ttc now, I wouldn't waste money on OPK's every month until you are ready. Right now is a good time to learn how your body works.

Also go to babycenter.com and fertilityfriend.com. They helped me out a lot.

I agree, i would start temping and charting and skip the sticks until you want to TTC. You will get to know your cycle, and after a couple months if you decide to TTC, you will know exactly when to use them to catch the surge.

Try reading the book "Taking charge of your Fertility" along with babycenter and fertility friend.com, its awesome

Actually there is a little chart on the instructions inside (I had the Clearblue OPK also!). It tells you when to start. I had 26 day cycles. I started at day 8 after 1 day of periods. My O date is about day 13.
