Re: Do you ever wonder if you will have PPD?
I have to add that I found that BF-ing made it so much worse because my body could not return to it's normal hormonal state. Once I stopped BF-ing, the PPD started to fade.

I've always struggled with depression and anxiety, so this is a huge fear of mine.
DH and I have had long talks about the signs to look for and when he needs to step in.
I have a tendancy to think I can handle things on my own and then wind up making everything 100 times worse by not getting help until it's almost too late.
So I'm prepared for the reality that I will likely have it and if I don't I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I could have written this myself- I am at high risk for it due to my previous struggles with anxiety.

I wondered if I did. I didnt have PPD but I was VERY emotional and cried at everything. It was my hormones all out of order. It took a good 4-5 wks to get back to normal. Now, 6 mos PP I still cry very easliy LOL

Re: Do you ever wonder if you will have PPD?
Janice,
I had an awful first trimester too. I wasnt physically sick, I had such depression and I couldnt figure out why. It was all I ever wanted and there I was crying all the time. I think it was because I was SO SCARED of what was to come. So I worried about post partum A LOT!
Let me tell you, I havent suffered from it for one day since Megan was born. I know everyone is different. But even sleep deprived ( which for me is that I thought the reason would be) I was just so happy and excited about her being here. I was in so much pain and often that left me a little sad but I was so determined not to give into it and miss the first weeks of my babys life that it made me push and push further to get better.
I was sad a little..I cried at silly things but I didnt suffer the way other women sometimes do. I Still thank god for that. I couldnt go through another time like in my first trimester...I refused to let it happen to me again.
Its scary, not knowing what to expect. I think thats the scariest part of this whole process!
