How do you handle

going to friends' houses whom smoke in their house?

On of our very close friends- whose children are close in age with Ryan, smokes in her house...

She never does it when we are there- but the house stinks... we leave there stinking like an ashtray everytime and I hate bringing Ryan there-

They live a good 45min away- so we "take turns" going to eachothers houses- but I feel like Im always pushing for them to come to us, because I really dont want Ryan in their smokey house....

Any advice? Do you just suck it up and deal? I continue to just push the visit at my house- but I know that annoys them (trust me- its not like I dont feel like driving- Id rather have the 3 kids trash their house then mine )

I would just be honest and explain the reason, politely saying that you would love to see her and her children in your own house. I wouldn't go to a home that smells of smoke!

We don't have any friends that smoke but I wouldn't go and I would tell my friend why and just suggest meeting somewhere for play dates or have them come to my home.

I would suggest meeting outside of their house or in my house. All visits were cut short.

I never said anything initially because it was their home and they could do whatever they want. When they tried to guilt trip us about not going there that's when I spoke up.
