Buy Sell Facebook groups - Vent
Ok, I know these are never 100% and I only sold a few things ever, but was so annoyed recently.
I want to sell the couches we had in the basement bc we got new ones. I had them for years, but they're in great condition. If not I'll just trash them.
DH and I brought them inth the garage and cleaned them up. I posted and got a ton of people interested. I took the first person and said I needed it out the upcoming weekend. She said no problem. I said Sunday at 10AM.
DH and I took them out and of course the woman never showed up or messaged.
Then I sent a few messages. Hours later she responded that she couldn't get a truck and never heard back from her again.
Ugh!
Now I am getting people asking if it's still available and I say "yes" and then never hear from them again. I know people do this all the time and make good money, but I have no patience. LOL
I don't know how they do it. Sometimes it's easier to trash or wait for bulk pickup and have someone grab it for free.

This is why I just trash or donate everything.
I have zero patience for dealing with society.
Time is money to me.
Not being aggravated is money.
Not worth anything I'd make.
Recently we ordered a light fixture online and they sent the wrong one. I called them and they sent us the correct one and said it wasn't worth it to them to ship back the old one so please sell or donate.
The wrong fixture was worth about $200 but I donated it. I wasn't going to deal with assholes.

I set low expectations and I don’t do anything unless I get a real response and not a suggestion from messenger.
I tell them to contact me the morning they are coming and at that point I give my address or meeting place, I found this best and less aggravation.
If it’s in good condition maybe see if the local firehouse will want it, sounds like a shame to throw away.

I also donate or trash everything as well because it is not worth it to me to wait around for someone to show up or haggle prices etc.

I donate and trash EVERYTHING! I don't have time and patience to deal with this.
The Veterans are coming to my house this week to do a pickup. I leave the boxes and bags right in front of my driveway at 7am. I don't even have to be home for the pickup.
It doesn't get any easier than that.

Thanks all! Yes, lesson learned. I don't even care for the money. Was asking $75 and willing to drop, but figured I'd give it away. Not worth it.
I usually do donate or just toss.
Oh well... not anymore. LOL

Omg the same thing happened to me! I just gave up.
I posted a TV for sale, 60 inch, 2 year old, flat screen TV for $50, then lowered it to $40.
I had like 15 people who said they were coming to get it and never showed.

I’ve purchased few things but have had people flake on me when I try to sell it... It’s annoying. Try the letgo app. It’s more streamlined I think. I am having a garage sale in the fall and whatever doesn’t go will be on the curb. People are just annoying

I've sold a few things through those groups including some big things like a couch, a fridge, and a dresser.
I will say, it's always first come, first served. I don't hold anything for anyone, so I set up a p/u for ASAP and if they don't show, then I have someone else ready. If it's too much of a hassle, I just donate it.
