on this week's episode of pet peeves...

that one co-worker who is always broke!

i'm sorry, but last time i checked... it is not my responsibility to be part of the collection to help you get a tank of gas to get your azz home or to spot you so you can buy lunch.

funny how, in an office of 12, you are the ONLY one who consistently forgets her debit card at home on the very same day that you forget that your car is on empty and you left your lunch on your dining room table.

so... no. i do not have $1 to throw in the pot to help you out. you suckered me in on $2 when i started working here. fine. i was wanting to help a fellow single-mom out. but at this point, you're a jerk. if you can't figure out these basics by the time you're 47, then my few bucks aren't really going to help you out. i'm going to use my hard-earned dollar to have a bag of m&ms from the vending machine.

grumble, grumble, grumble.

what are your most recent pet peeves?

I might get some slack for this but mine is adults who don't keep up with technology or don't use a computer. I don't even know how a person in their 40's could function in this world and not know how to use technology! My husband set my sister up with a Firestick because she was complaining that she couldn't afford to pay her Cable bill anymore. She had the thing only a few days and calls us last night because everything my husband set up was gone and she was whining that she couldn't watch tv. So my super nice dh drives all the way to their house at 9pm to fix it (a half hour from us) and there was nothing wrong with it - user error. She's just electronically illiterate!

MLM on Facebook
Especially diet ones.
That push pre-packaged processed foods that are full of soy and other shittty ingredients and cost hundreds of dollars of a month and say they are so healthy for you.

And how they are a "health coach" yet they have absolutely 0 background in health, nutrition, personal training, exercise, etc.

But they bought into the pyramid so now they are a COACH.

I can't.

Most kids are just as technologically impaired, too. I'm around a lot of tween and teen kids for various activities. Very few kids actually understand technology. They know how to click some buttons on some apps, but they don't understand what any of it is doing.

Two girls I went to high school with just started some sort of "health coach" MLM. They never post the actual name, because you need to ask them about it find out more.

I really don't need your inspirational daily post about how hard it is to be a mom and find time to work out. I'm glad your getting fit, but I don't need 10 hashtags about it or to see videos of you working out or to hear about how good you feel now that you're taking time for yourself. Facebook has enough aspirational posts without you adding to it with your pyramid scheme. Stop trying to pray on the insecurity of moms.

I can't stand on Facebook when someone posts something good that happened to them and others can'y just say that's great etc. Instead they have to post their own version of that great news. Ex. My friend posted that her son made high honors in school. I replied- Congrats, great job!
Others replied My son also made high honors. One woman wrote- I don't know what I'm going to do with all the bumper stickers that I get from the school from my DD making honors.
People can't even take the 2 seconds to say congrats. They have to throw in what happened to them too!

I've got another facebook one. Vacation photos that aren't about the vacation, but rather just about you. If you want to post photos of the cool place you went, go for it. I'd love to see you on top of the mountain your climbed or looking a cool cathedral. But I don't need 50 photos of you in a bikini or a picture of what outfit you wore to dinner. I just don't care what you wore on vacation.

Re: on this week's episode of pet peeves...

My 11 year old has to help his 30 year old teachers figure out why their computer was not working in class. My kid is eleven and these people are teachers. Teachers in a top 10 district. They could not figure out how to hook up the computer to the white board and synchronize it. He had to do it for them. In 4th grade he got himself an internship with the computer teacher to teach her how to use the new lego computer program.

People who don’t show up when you want to sell something off FB. They say they will be there at a certain time, and I wait around and they never show up. Just tell me you aren’t interested.

PEOPLE WHO SCHEDULE CALLS and then don't call at the time they say they are going to!! This is like the 5th person to stand me up via a phone call for work or business related things. I sit there waiting and ready for the call at the scheduled and multiple confirmed times and then it's either super late or doesn't happen at all. so FED UP!

People who consistently interrupt you or talk over you when you are speaking. I understand that this happens at times in the course of the conversation... But I am talking about the ones who always do it.

I have two people close to me who have been told frequently they do it. I usually try to continue after the interruption ("So anyway, I was saying"). After like 3 times, I give up. Weeks later this one person will say... "You never told me you were...blah blah blah'.

While it is probably just a bad habit on their part, it gices me the impression they don't really give a darn about others.

I loathe this as well! My DH's best friend is like this so much so that I barely even talk to him anymore bc if you start a story or thought you will never be able to finish so why bother?

To piggyback on this...the same "coaches" show off all the trips and goods that they earned from your hard earned money but shrug if you came at them to buy your services!

I absolutely hate the sweaty selfies of them drinking this gross-looking, gritty shake proclaiming that it's their "favorite meal of the day!" I want to be like "you lie!" It's not better than cheese and pizza and wine and tacos and margaritas and ice cream sundaes. You may be drinking it to lose weight, you may be able to tolerate it, but it is NOT anyone's favorite deal meal of the day. It's just not.

Not to mention... non of that shit is sustainable.
You aren't going to live your whole life drinking that bullshitt.
And when you stop, you'll put the weight back on.
How about changing you lifestyle and your way of eating to something sustainable? How about changing habits instead of looking for a magic potion?
