Dr. Ann Buhl, works out of South Nassau. She has a great bed side manner, easy to talk to and understand.

I agree that MSK is excellent. It is also a lot more convenient than most people realize.
In Riverhead, I know of a few people who have used Dr. Beverly Hannah Ortiz and love her. I believe her patients receive treatment at NY Cancer and Blood Specialists in Setauket, but I believe one went to MSK Commack for treatment.

Thanks so much for responses. I already saw someone my gyn recommended but dont know much about him and want to get another opinion. I just need to see someone as a precaution due to a test not coming up right. I don’t think MSK take patients unless they have been diagnosed with something.

I was sent to him by the obgyn I was seeing at the time because my sister had just been diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer and my OBGYN thought it was important for me to speak to a specialist just in case. The office was great and the dr himself was very nice. I thankfully didn't need to continue seeing him, but if the need ever arises again, I would go back to him.

Glad to hear that it is probably a precaution. Good move by your GYN. You may be right about MSK-
If convenient, Dr. Ortiz may be good.

What kind of cancer?
MSK will take certain GYN cases that have not yet been biopsy proven. Ovarian in particular, since you can’t have a biopsy proven diagnosis without surgery.
If MSK is out of the question, Northwell has recruited some very talented MDs to their cancer center. I have always been impressed with NYU as well.
