Soda stream?
Anyone have one? Are they worth it? I go through roughly 4 cases of plain seltzer a week just wondering if anyone had feedback

It’s so worth it. Saves money in the long run (plus all that plastic waste is no more!)

Re: Soda stream?
Definitely worth it if you’re a selter drinker. I don’t like the flavors for actual soda. They taste nothing like what you’d want them to taste like. But if you want plain selter you can flavor w fresh lemon or lime? It can’t be beat

Re: Soda stream?
I've had some questions about it myself. Someone gave me the Cuisinart one as a gift (a few yrs ago) and I found it to be soooo expensive and more hassle than it was worth. The $10 cartridges only filled like 4 liters for me, It was a pain to exchange them. Is the sodastream better? Do the cartridges actually last? How does it work with the empties (is there an exchange or they just go in the recycle can?) I go through a ton of seltzer, it would be so convenient to have a machine that isn't a PITA.

Re: Soda stream?
Dh drinks a TON of seltzer and I used to as well (until I realized the carbonation was KILLING my stomach so I had to switch to flavored flat water [Hint]).
But the reason he didn't want to get the soda stream was he likes the funky flavored seltzers. They do have the calorie free, natural essence flavor shots for Soda Stream but they only come in like 2-3 flavors and he likes the varieties like Strawberry/Blueberry, Peach/Pear, Watermelon etc that the S&S brand and the Polar brand comes in. I did as well.
I think if you like plain unflavored seltzer or like to just add some lemon or lime, then it's great.

My husband and I both drink unflavored seltzer. We have the regular SodaStream, 2 CO2 chargers and 8 1-liter seltzer bottles. This is a rough estimate, but the refillable 60L CO2 chargers last us about 3 weeks. We drink about 4 liters of seltzer per day. (Sorry I can't do the math for you lol) I read that each 60L charger makes 40-45L of seltzer.
You can exchange the empty CO2 at Bed Bath and Beyond, and pay only 14.99 for a full replacement. I usually bring both back empty and use a $10 off $30 coupon, and pay $20 for the refills.
Just as an FYI- you are not supposed to wash the bottles in hot water, and although it's usually very far out, the bottles themselves do expire (the date is printed on the bottle).
Hope this helps!

Wow thank you for all the info!!! That sounds a lot better than the one I had! I've been so hesitant to try it because of how terrible the Cuisinart one was, but sounds like we might even save money using the soda stream.
I had no clue you weren't supposed to wash the bottles in hot water - good to know. Makes sense now that I think about it, because the carbonation does put pressure on the bottle and hot water weakens plastic. Thanks again!
