My son is more than happy with him just moving from location to location. Once or twice a season he'll do something "creative".
Keep it simple...they won't care.

Agree 100%!! I do maybe 2-3 creative things a season with the elf. All the other days just move him from a shelf to the couch to hanging off the tv. Nothing crazy and my kids still love it.
I feel like parents put so much pressure on themselves to have this elf do something over the top every day.

Our elf doesn't do anything but hopefully move at night - except for maybe send a letter if the boys are not behaving!

Tip from friend of mine- if you forget to move him, just say he came back to the same spot b/c it's his favorite.
