passport vent
We went a few weeks ago to get passports for my kids. They took their birth certificates and said they would send it back. We received the passports in the mail and only 1 birth certificate back!!!  What a pain in the butt!!!

this is why i haven't gotten my new passport yet!
mine expired after our wedding, i need to go through the whole process again and send them my wedding license and citizenship paperwork. i'm dawdling because i don't trust the USPS to get my documents back to me and getting new ones is impossible!
i hope you get the other certificates back soon

Was the birth certificate together with the passports? I always thought the docs came separate but I could be wrong since its been a few years.
The other certificate should be coming in the mail soon but you can call to make sure. They are usually good at sending documents back.

Each should come in its own envelope. When we did them for our kids last year we had four separate envelopes arrive.

Depends on where you were born. Town of Brookhaven, you go to Town Hall. Some clerk's office's have the order form online. Entirely depends on where you were born.

I needed a new one because mine had deteriorated to the point the seal wasn't good anymore so before I could get a passport i had to get a new birth certificate...super annoying.

My sister just used this site, and paid $100 for her BC. I wanted to smack her! (she is dirt poor) She had no idea she could've just went to the Clerk's Office in her County (out of state) and paid like $5 for it. So I would check other options before using that!

Something similar just happened to my sisters fiancée. They are getting married on Saturday and leaving for Aruba on Monday. He had to renew his passport. USPS lost it! So he didn't have his old passport or his birth certificate. He had to then pay to rush everything and just got his renewed passport last week. He got his birth certificate from town hall.
