Homeowner's Insurance!
I'm haven't even closed on our house and I'm already sick of being a homeowner, lol!
What does everyone use?
I thought bundling with GEICO (both have our auto policies with them) would be the best option, but I'm not thrilled with what they quoted us (almost $1800). Going to try to call All State tomorrow. Maybe some of the other big ones. But such a pain..20-30 mins on the phone every time

I did a quick search on here & in old topics (from 2015), a few people recommended All State. Seems like they're still good. I don't want to change my auto right now, but I'll def call them. Thanks!

Homeowner's Insurance!
Get an independent agent. They do the leg work for you. When I bought our house, I just used State Farm - did an online quote, price didn't seem too bad. A month ago I contacted the agent my in laws use, and they saved me $400 (a third of what I was paying). I also did my auto with them, and I pay less than most people I know.
I use Millennium Alliance Group http://www.millenniumag.com/ They're great. If you have a claim or any kind of issue, they handle it.

We used a vendor on here Jen from Jennings Bradley & Parker. She got us the absolute best quote.

Thank you! My co-worker today said her mom used an agent as well and got a good price but didn’t have the name. It’s the last thing we need to finalize before closing so I don’t want to hold things up. Do the agents charge anything?

I second Jen. She got us a good rate for homeowners and auto... and it wasn't even with the same company

The agent gets a fee from the insurance company. It doesn't cost you anything.
It doesn't take long with them. It's the same amount of time as calling an insurance company directly, but they take your information and get quotes from different companies for you. I requested the quote on a Friday, received it Monday afternoon, took sometime to review it, and finalized the insurance by Wednesday, so it took less than a week, and most of the delay was on my side.

Re: Homeowner's Insurance!
we recently switched from ERie (which I think is a PA based company) to NJ Manufacturers Group. I think they cover NY and recently added PA. (we live in Pa); saved a ton on home and auto to what we were paying previously.
