If your kid has a lot of shoes...
How do you organize them and where do you keep them? I have a 16 pair organizer by the door for DD. I've doubled up cubbies and still don't have room, not to mention it always looks messy no matter what I do. Between that and the entry bench with my shoes, my living room looks like DSW threw up.
We don't wear shoes in the house so I feel like it's stupid to keep them upstairs in her room.

We keep seasonal shoes downstairs and the rest in our closets.

I have the same problem, but it helps a little to only keep the shoes she wears most of the time near the door, and her occasional shoes, like dress shoes, rain boots, etc that she only wears once in a while stay in her room.

Re: If your kid has a lot of shoes...
I have a shoe rack in her closet so a lot of her shoes are there. Then I have a shoe basket by the door. Shoes they wear all the time should be the only ones in there but that never happens and we are always digiing fro shoes so in hindsight I wouldn't recomment a basket however I would consider keeping the ones she doesn't always wear in her room (or somewhere else in the house)

I have off season stuff in their room. A small wire basket by the front door for what they wear the most (basically like a wire wastebasket which is nice bc you can see what's in there without dumping it out). We have a downstairs playroom so they each have a plastic bin in there for the rest. I got cute ones at target that fit into the cube shelves in there.

We do this too. Someone gave us one of those tiny Minnie Mouse bookcases for her first birthday which was too small for her books but works perfectly in the back of her closet for shoes.

Re: If your kid has a lot of shoes...
I have baskets in the entryway, and the ones that get worn a lot get thrown in there. One for our shoes, one for DD's (two different spots in entryway). I also have some in the shoe organizer in our coat closet, along with a bunch thrown in some "Stand Tall" Thirty One bins. We don't wear shoes in the house either, so I don't keep any in our bedrooms

Re: If your kid has a lot of shoes...
We keep shoes by the door, but I try to limit it to 1 pair per person. Sometimes the kids have 2 pairs. Everything else goes into our closets, otherwise it would drive me insane. I think any shoes at all looks messy, but it's not reasonable to carry all our shoes up every time we come in.

I stopped reading when I saw your daughter has 16 pairs of shoes. Cuz I’m jealous and I don’t care how you solve this “problem”
Lol
I do what the above poster said- I have a cubby thing by our front door and we all put our “what we’re wearing lately” shoes in to, and all other shoes are in upstairs closet

Cubby baskets inside the hall closet for everyday wear shoes. Seasonal and special occasion shoes are in the closet. some on built in shelving and I also have one of those long hanging organizers in there.
We don't wear shoes in the house either that is why I keep the current rotation in the hall closet.

Re: If your kid has a lot of shoes...
Ugh its a never ending issue with 2 girls. Between them I'd guess they have over 30 pairs of shoes/sneakers and boots. I use an over the door organizer for all the dressy type shoes and than I have a step type organizer with 2 different levels for their closets for boots and sneakers.
