Long Term Parking - JFK
I've never parked at JFK. How does it work? I saw there are offsite lots, is it a royal pain with luggage and kids? I wanted to take the LIRR to the Air Train, but the train has been screwed up all week, and I can't take my chances

I always use the Parking Spot. There are a bunch of locations in the tristate area. Never had a problem with them. Plus, you can always find a coupon.
Pull in and they will take out luggage and a shuttle takes you to your Gate. They will park your car. You're hardly ever in the cold or heat. Never wait for the shuttle very long. Usually there as soon as we pull up and then call when you get your luggage and they pick you up.

We've used the off site parking called JFK long term parking 3 times. It's so convenient in my opinion. When we come back our car was started and the heat was on (bc it was winter). One time we had someone pick us up and we were so rushed to get everything in the car that we had to pull over on the side of the road to fix the car seats. Since then we've used the parking lot and have the shuttle pick us up. It's basically door to door service.

I use Smart Park. It's not a pain at all. The shuttle brings you over and picks you up. You have to call for pick up and it can take a little while (20-30 minutes)

Thanks! I didn't realize it was that expensive! I think I'm just better off with a car service to JFK and avoid me having to try to wrangle two kids and luggage. I don't REALLY need a ride home, just there. I'm SO mad that the LIRR sucks so bad. I had this all planned out, searched all the Air Train posts on here lol then I see their crap service the past three days in a row! UGH

I know. The Air Train is truly the best thing ever but there is always that wild card in the back of my mind about the LIRR.
that's the worst part of it.
And yes, this week is like a freaking nightmare with the trains.
Maybe Uber will be cheaper than a car service though?

when we drive to JFK we use JFK Longterm parking. They are great - always a coupon. JFK Longterm Parking

The Parking Spot closed and was replaced with Jiffy JFK Airport Parking .
We have used Smart Park in the past as well.
I booked Jiffy for our upcoming trip because they were cheaper than Smart Park.
Both places are much cheaper than the Long Term parking lots at JFK.

Didn't realize it was taken over. We moved to NJ and used to use that one when we lived on LI. There are 3 Parking Spots at Newark airport. Although that doesn't help. Sorry

Long Term Parking - JFK
We always use the Long term parking at JFK. We park our car and get a luggage cart then take the airtrain. Very convenient and always on time.
