I would not pay her an hourly rate. I’d get her a gift “from the boys” once in a while for being such a good friend and generous birthday and holiday gifts. I see it is that she is getting her pre-babysitting unpaid internship and in a year or two it would be more appropriate to pay her as an official mother’s helper. I think she is a little young and will expect to be paid every time she comes over and then the social and work duties will become too confusing and lead to misunderstandings.
