dinosaur exhibits

Is there a museum on LI that has a good dinosaur exhibit for young kids? My nephew (age 4) is staying with me for a little bit and keeps asking to go see dinosaurs. I have no idea where I can take him and google isn't much help at all. I'm willing to go into the city if there is something really amazing. I just want to find something he'll like. Thanks!

There is a very very small dinosaur area at LICM, may be worth it if he went there for a full day and did other things. In the city there is the natural museum of history

CT has a couple of Dino things. Quick trip on the ferry. Also Field Station Dinosaurs in NJ. That is pretty cool, we did it one year!! Museum of Natural history's dino section is boring to me (we went on a field trip recently, no one even read the exhibits)

Mystic aquarium has a Dino exhibit that was really great... with animatronics but indoors and probably smaller than field station. Worth it for a long day trip... and part of aquarium admission.

The American Museum of Natural History has a very large dinosaur exhibit with the actual fossils set up of several dinosaurs. My son always loves going there. If he's interested in dinosaurs, there's no doubt this is the best exhibit to take him to:

The dinosaur exhibit at LICM is temporary, so check to make sure it's still there if you plan to visit. It may be gone by now.

The LICM dinosaur exhibit closed last month.
