Party Favor Etiquette

Do you give favors to guests who cannot attend the party but gave you a gift ? Or conversely do you usually receive a favor from a party host where you couldn't go but gave a gift?


I am asking specifically for kids birthday parties.

no. party favors are for party attendees. If you were not there, you do not get a favor.

I’m another note, can we abolish party favors?!? All it is is more junk around the house that sees it way into the garbage very quickly!

Yes and no. We’ve had to cancel at the last minute due to a stomach bug. We send a gift with a friend and at school she got the favor bag. I don’t think it’s the norm, thou
