Scratches!!!
So over the winter during one of the bad storms my car had like a foot of snow on it. I was using one of those long stick like removers with the bristles on it. A few days later my husband said that my car was covered in scratches primarily on the hood where the snow was deepest. I guess I just didnt see what i was doing when trying to remove it all! So i need to get the hood painted. Does anyone know how this works? Do i do an auto body shop and do they need to paint the entire thing to get the scratches out? wondering what this will cost me.

Scratches!!!
This happened to my previous car - I brought it in for a detail and they were able to compound the scratches out. It looked great after!

Scratches!!!
I’m in queens and my husband used to work at a shop back in high school that had a car wash and detailing center. It was like $200

Re: Scratches!!!
Most scratches are just in the clear coat. Even though it looks really bad, it's just from the sun's reflection and refraction in the top layer. The easiest way to see if it's just a top layer scratch is to pour water over the area. If the scratches disappear when soaked, then it's a clear coat issue, and there are ways of sanding that out. If the scratches are visable when it's wet, and/or your fingernail catches on the scratch, then it's a lot deeper, and may need more work to fix it. It's unlikely that you need any repainting done.
