School district help
If you had a choice what town/SD would you move to? Dd has adhd so services will probably be needed. You can PM me too.

Growing up I was always led to believe that East ISLIP was one of the best school districts on Long Island. Many people, except one, has told me to stay far away now that I’m looking.

Connetquot. I have friends and family who live in the district and all love it. When we were looking it was our top choice but ended up in a neighboring district.

They are all comparable. But personal experience is better than numbers.

Hauppauge is a really nice district. I worked in the district for a few years and was happy with the things I saw at the elementary level.
Of the towns listed, that would be my first choice. Second choice would be Bohemia/Oakdale.

I can only speak from personal experience with Hauppauge, as I worked briefly in the special education department. This was years ago, but they offered most, if not all, special services - which is rare for a smaller district. It's a great district with a lot of opportunity for the kids - though as I mentioned, this was several years ago.
Bohemia/Oakdale area is Connetquot schools, you would have no issues getting the services needed there. Our district does not provide all services and this is where children go if they are needed. It's also a great district, many opportunities in academics and sports, but is also a very large district.
I don't have personal experience with with East Islip, but I know a lot of people who love in that area that aren't super happy with with the schools, and some who are - but the ones who are happy are elementary level, and I know about a dozen people who live there that send their kids to private school.

Connetquot. This is our district, but something you must know is that not every elementary school has inclusion classes. Children who need services will be bussed to one of the schools that provide them if they are not already zoned to go there. I'm not sure how many elementary schools this affects, but I know our elementary school does not have inclusion.

I would have no problem with Bayshore, Islip, Connetquot or Hauppauge. East Islip would not be my preference.
I think you should go with which neighborhood you like. I would much rather live in Islip rather than Bohemia, just for example.
