I know of someone that does this. Not personally but I know of them. I am a teacher- I don’t think there are any guidelines about this.

My daughter's K teacher lives in the district and her daughter will be attending elementary school where she teaches.

It possibly depends on the district, but an elementary teacher on my district lives within the zoning for her school. Her kids go to the school, but I assume are not assigned to her classroom.

My friend teaches at an elementary school in our district and her child goes there, as well as her niece and nephew.
They are allowed to teach there, they just can't teach their relatives.

It may be different in other districts, but in my district, yes, the child attends the school they are zoned for, but will not be placed in the parent's class.

My daughters teacher has a daughter who goes to the same school she teaches in. She has said it can be awkward and she moved the grade she teaches so she teaches a grade below her. I’m not a teacher but I would never want that for my kids or myself.

My MIL is a high school teacher (gym) and taught each of her 3 children multiple times. I’m pretty sure BIL had her all 4 years and I know DH had her for at least his junior and senior years because he used to cut her class.
There were 3,000 kids in the school and I would assume several gym teachers but somehow she kept teaching her own kids (or not, since I think my SIL was the only one who ever showed up for class).

A few of our teachers, subs and our principal live in our town. I am not sure that any have children that are at the same school though. I would imagine it would be allowed thou.

My mother taught in 2 of the schools I attended in my district growing up. I was just not in her classes.
