Clair’s is filing for bankruptcy
Yet I keep seeing more and more strip malls being built, with empty storefronts available across the street. It makes no sense.

Some malls are dead. There is one near me that is always packed, but you don't see teenagers at the mall. It is just parents with small kids, adults, or older people. I took DD to Clair's once but she is not really into jewelry so we did not go back. I don't see her friends wearing the fake dress up stuff either. It is either real or nothing. Most of the kids don't really wear jewelry like I remember kids wearing it when I was younger.

That's because nobody has the patience to go to a mall and stand in line anymore. I haven't been to a mall in 15 years

I had to do a return to Loft at Roosevelt field and it took me over 20 mins to find a spot. Both garages were full. I happily park far and walk. This was my personal hell.
So maybe people just go and walk around without buying???? I dunno but yesterday it was insane.
I only shop online and hate the mall, so I typically avoid it.

Sad all of these stores are going out of business. They just can't compete with online shopping like Amazon.
I actually went to a mall near my house this weekend to bring my DD to see the Easter Bunny and it was sad, not a lot of people there at all and the had closed a lot of stores.

I'm surprised. That store is packed with Tweens everytime we go in there! No one is buying the jewelry, they're there for the JOJO bows, phone cases, legwarmers, accessories, etc. They should just nix the earrings
