Re: Massage at nail salon

the only massage I get at my place is the hands as the lady is rubbing the lotion in at the end. with a pedicure, its a foot rub. (that is all that is offered). I do see a massage therapist regularly..i have too many issues with my neck and shoulder to let a nail tech rub them.

Sorry you're in pain :(

Ok, you want to hear something really weird re: nail salon massage? This just happenened to me 5 days ago...

So I go for a pedicure to a place I've been using recently and a man is going to do it. Ok, I really don't like when a man does my pedi, but what am I going to say, right? So the foot massage part comes and he is really pressing and digging his fingers into a spot in the dead center of each heel, which no one has ever done ever...and I'm a pedicure regular. It was very uncomfortable, but I didn't say anything thinking it would be over soon. Meanwhile, I'm thinking 'What the hell is this? Some reflexology s**t?'

So later, at home, I look up foot acupressure points and that point on the heel corresponds with...

It's too bad I will never go back there now, the guy actually gave a good pedicure Chat Icon

Man that's creepy.
I have to say though, I don't get pedicures anymore due to getting too many funguses from these places BUT I do occasionally go to one of those foot rub places (a totally legit one, I swear! Chat Icon) and I have to say I can't stand the reflexology. It HURTS. Like it feels like they are poking the most sensitive parts of my foot with a metal rod and super hard. There have been times I pulled my foot away because I really couldn't stand the pain anymore. It's literal torture.
I do like the rest of it, the calf massage, the neck and shoulders, the foot rub that is more of a massage- but when they start in with that reflexology shit- oh my god, it's awful!
