Valentine's day gifts for kids- when to give
I leave the house before anyone is up. Would you leave gifts so they get them at breakfast or wait until you got home at 5?

I would wait. Like a pp said, I'm home but I wait until dh is home. I'm not one to get gifts for every holiday so my kids won't wake up expecting something though. I just think it's more special if you get to hand it to them vs just leaving it just so they don't have to wait. What about leaving a special note wishing them happy Valentine's day and that you can't wait to celebrate with them later?

I'm in the minority here, but I prefer to give them in the morning. It sets the tone for the day, and they get so much crap at school that day, I don't want mine to get lost in the shuffle

hmmm I am torn myself, my DH is gone when we all get up but if I give them their candy before school the teacher can deal with them all hopped up on sugar... decisions decisions...
I will let DH decide this one...

We give at night. DH leaves before the kids are even awake. Maybe we'll do tomorrow night since DDs school party is tomorrow. The 14th is Ash Wednesday.

Because it's a school day, I'll decorate the whole kitchen and get their gifts ready for when they come home. Then I make a nice V-Day dinner for them and the hubby.
