Re: What's the most expensive damage your child has done?

Luckily neither of my kids have done anything too cost us too much yet.
But I have a story from when I was a kid. When I was about 7 my parents paid someone to come and lay brand new tile in the bathroom. It looked so beautiful I couldnt help myself from going in after the contractor left and dance on it like Cinderella in a ballroom. About an hour later my dad comes STORMING out of the house to find me in the backyard. I cost them $1200...the contractor had to come back and attempt the best he could to reset the tile because I shifted it all while I was dancing and it hadn't dried yet My parents STILL bring it up to this day. A few years ago my DH and I remodeled our 2 bathrooms and he refused to allow me anywhere near them on tile day
Omg, this is me as an adult! It took dh almost 2 years to build a brand new staircase in our house. The very last thing was the polyurethane coat on the wood floor on the top landing. We were running late for dinner plans when he finished and I rushed upstairs to get ready and as I got to the top I wondered why my socks were sticking to the floor. Yep, footprints on the brand new floor. I could have died as I waited for dh to get out of the shower to tell him what I did. I really shouldn't blame my kids for why we can't have nice things.
