Re: Kids Volunteering

American Legion, Rotary, Lion's Club, etc. almost always have activities going on that they could use volunteers for.

My Boy Scout Troop is associated with the local Rotary Club, so we do a bunch of things with them. Food drives, water station at a fun run, etc.

ETA: You can also ask your nearest Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop. Even if DC doesn't join, they'll usually let someone else volunteer, or give them insights on volunteer work in the neighborhood. Scouts are in that tween (plus and minus) age range, so they'll know what is appropriate.

Tweens are hard, because may places have an age requirement. Sav A Pet has pet supply needs, so your child could have a drive for it at Walmart, school., etc. My DD has hosted a drive at school for Birthday Wishes for bday party supplies. You can also bake for them....but you have to drive the cupcakes/cakes to Hicksville (we combine it with a trip to Ikea lol)

Bethel Hobbs Farm in Centereach will allow children of all ages to come and do work on the farm. You can go on their website to register and pick the hours.

Also Last Chance Animal Rescue will allow tweens to come to their adoption events to help. They are held at Petco stores. The website will allow you to register.

Check your local library. I know ours does volunteer opportunities for tweens and teens.
