IKEA furniture?
Hey everyone Just wondering if anyone has any experience with IKEA furniture for a master bedroom
We've been using the furniture that I've had since I was a teenager. Clearly not enough for two adults. I'm not looking to spend tons of money- will IKEA furniture hold me over for at least a few years?
Any experiences?
Also thinking of getting my kids a set from IKEA- good for kids? Will it hold up against a Tasmanian devil of a three year old?

IKEA furniture?
We have the Hemnes line in our bedroom (it’s actually on sale now!). We’ve had it for 8 years and it’s survived a move. In my opinion it has held up beautifully.

We have also had an Ikea bedroom set for a few years and it's held up perfectly. Our mattress is from Ikea and is even older - 10 years i bet - and has been great! I'm not someone who wants to spent a lot on bedroom furniture, so they are perfect for me. Def recommend.

I have had my ikea bed (metal) for way over 10 years. It has been moved 3x. It’s perfect. We also have the Hemnes dressers and nightstands. The dressers are fine. The nightstands show a bit of wear. They are 5 years old but do get a lot of use.

I saw an article the other day about how Prince George and Princess Charlotte have Ikea furniture. I don't love their designs, but apparently the stuff is quite literally fit for a princess.

I have had this dresser for a few years now, and it's great! It's solid, very heavy, and very roomy. You can't beat the price! B*tch to put together though! It's on sale for $199

I have furniture from ikea, raymour and Bob’s. The Bob’s furniture is crap and I’m fighting with them to replace several pieces I bought 4 years ago. I have several pieces of ikea furniture going on 15 years + and they are in near perfect condition. I’m a big fan of ikea.

Bumping up just to see if there are any more positive or any negative reviews.
Does anyone buy IKEA or the hemnes line for young kids? Hoping it will hold up for my now super energetic three year old and nine month old- at least for a few years
Otherwise I'm gonna order tomorrow!

We have the hemnes line but not for kids for us. We have had it since 2004. It looks brand new. It survived a move as well.

IKEA furniture?
I have never had a problem with any Ikea Furniture. I have a bookcase hanging on my wall that has made it through 2 moves. I had dressers that I got and then passed on to someone else and those are holding up as well for about 10 years now. I buy from them all the time. They are my go to when I need something. Unfortunately they don't always fit the look I am going for.

Not bedroom furniture, but my Billy bookcases are 24 years old, have been moved twice and are still holding up very well.

Good luck with Bobs - they suck at replacing pieces.
I have had furniture from Ikea - it's hit or miss. I had a fabulous dresser and then two that weren't so fabulous in the same line. It cold've been user error (my dad screwed up assembly and had to take them apart).

IKEA is a hit or miss. I had a mattress from them and it totally sucked. I have a bookcase, TV stand, kitchen, and PAX wardrobes from them. All of this has held up nicely.
A few years ago I had a nice bed frame and nightstand from them. It held up great (got rid of it because I moved).
I think the key is picking out stuff that has a solid material. So, for example, don’t go for Lack. I think Hemnes is a solid material and would hold up great. Go to the showroom and really check out the material. You’ll know.

It's definitely hit or miss. I have several items from there, and SIL does as well. Some pieces still look almost brand new 15+ years later. SIL's couch fell apart very quickly.

I think a lot depends on how well you put it together too. My girls have a small dresser in their room that I bought 17 years ago when I moved out of my parents house into my first apartment and its still holding up! In their closet is my two old nighttables that I use to organize their stuff.

The couch that my SIL got from IKEA was pre-assembled and delivered by IKEA... and fell apart pretty quickly. I think it fell apart faster than my Bob's couch.
My dresser is made of real wood for the most part, and that is doing great. The pressed sawdust stuff never lasts very long.

IKEA furniture?
Both my kids bedroom sets are from Ikea. My teenage daughters has fallen apart some, but I will admit that she overstuffs the drawers and that could be the cause. They are mostly made of heavy particle board so they can't take much abuse. But for adult use should be fine. They still look great.

The only experience I have with IKEA is my couch and club chair . Couch is 10 years old and still going strong and is sooooo Comfy! I need a bedroom set and am considering the Hemnes.

this is the opposite of us. Dh had a dresser and another piece years ago before we got married that was total garbage. His friends had bedroom sets that fell apart in their moves. when we moved into a house, our moving company specifically had a clause for Ikea furniture and waiving liability b/c their furniture did not hold up in moves.
I have a living room set from Bobs that has held up 10 years now and DS's big boy bed with book case headboard was from bobs too. My parents and MIL have stuff from Bobs too that has done well.
Im not a fan of Ikea honestly, unless their stuff has gotten better over the years.
