Help with an awkward gift
My poor daughter got sick at school. She was in the nurses office but someone else got sick in there so they put her in the hallway while they cleaned up that mess. My daughter went to ask for a bathroom and couldn't help it and threw up all over the secretary's desk. My daughter is so embarrassed. I arrived right after is happened and offered to clean it but custodial staff was already on it. I want to get the poor secretary some type of gift. What could I get?

I would totally do lysol to make a joke out of it and maybe a gift card to somewhere local she can use for lunch.

Re: Help with an awkward gift
Yes maybe gift card to a local pizza place or something nearby?
Or a small edible arrangement? I think they have $25 and under ones and if you pick it up yourself and bring it to her you save the delivery fees

Re: Help with an awkward gift
Maybe a GC to Staples to replace some things she may not want back?! Something funny and sweet like Clorox Wipes, Purell, coffee mug with a $10 GC to DD and a $10 GC to Staples all in one basket or something that can go on a desk?

Help with an awkward gift
The first time my daughter ever threw up was in her new class at school. She was 3 and had been there for a week LOL I wrote the teacher a card saying Thank you for handling this so well and I appreciate all she does. I included $25.00 and say please treat urself to something special after a crazy day. Thank you for all you do etc..

Help with an awkward gift
I'd do some Lysol wipes, scented antibacterial gel, and a small box of chocolates. Something along those lines.

Ha! I was going to say a gift basket with clorox wipes, hand sanitzer and a mask. I think a bouquet of flowers is a nice gesture.

I wouldn’t do a food item. I think flowers would be nice.

I wouldn’t do anything, tbh. Kids puke. If you feel you must do something, I’d do flowers.
I remember I puked one time at school and my mom didn’t give a gift.

Re: Help with an awkward gift
I’d do a small potted plant she can keep at her desk with a small cheesy line about re beautifying the space. It’ll make for a cute conversational piece if anyone asks about it.

I agree, this to me is better then a GC. I also dont think anything is needed, Im sure its happened before she works in a school

Re: Help with an awkward gift
I think it is a sweet gesture to give something. I would do a plant or some flowers. I also agree that this might have happened many times before. DS threw up in his classroom in 2nd grade, and in a bathroom floor before being able to reach to the nurse's office in 6th grade... same time of the year. Hope your DD is feeling better!

Re: Help with an awkward gift
I think a small gesture is a nice idea. I personally don’t know if I’d give something to keep on her desk though because I know if it were ME, I wouldn’t want a reminder of that incident starring me in the face everyday lol! I think a sweet note and maybe a DD or Starbucks gift card is nice though. The Lysol idea is cute to tag on too. Just my opinion!
