i wanna cry... first world problem

i coupon. i shop deals.
SO is a coffee lover.

a couple of weeks ago, there was a deal at kmart that gave me cash back. then last week, there was another deal.

kmart and sears are the same.
i decided to use all this cash back to buy SO a fancy schmancy coffee maker for valentine's day.
kmart also has an app where you can win points. so i've been doing everything i can to get points so that the coffee maker is as cheap as possible. i've even cashed in points on other apps for gift cards to sears... i've put some work into this lol

a few minutes ago, i text SO and ask a coffee-related question... to make sure i buy the right model. SO is working on getting healthier, he quit smoking his e-cigarette and is eating better.

his reply in the text... "I'm going to try to scale back my coffee"

I would still get it, scaling back doesn't mean quitting all together right?

I agree. My DH has been eating better and cutting back on stuff but hasn't given up his coffee. He doesn't add sugar though and uses sugar free creamer but still drinks it.

I don't think I would buy it.
If he really want's to cut back on it I wouldn't want something around that would make it easy for him to continue drinking it.

I'd still buy it. Usually when a guy says something like that it lasts about a day or two.

Re: i wanna cry... first world problem

Is coffee really that unhealthy?
I know plenty of people who eat super clean and healthy and they still drink coffee.

Brewed alone it's not unhealthy. What you add to it can be, but that's not the coffee itself and their are healthier ways to drink it. ( i mean you can make a salad unhealthy by what you add to it too!)

I guess maybe too much caffeine can be considered bad, but I mean if he was drinking 5 cups a day and wants to cut back to 1 or 2, he'll still need a coffee maker no?

I would still get it. Even if he's cutting back, when he does have it, it will be in an extra nice machine and I'm sure he'll enjoy using it for company too.

I eat healthy and I still drink coffee. I just add a splash of milk, no sugar.

That’s an amazing deal! Way to work those points and rewards !!!!

I’m glad you got it. Even though I’m eating. Healthy, I still drink coffee every day and every Sunday morning DH makes me a latte with our fancy machine. I don’t do lattes everyday because the milk and cream is heavily pointed (weight watchers) but Sunday mornings are glorious with that latte - little sprinkle of Cinnamon on top. Yummmm
