My first world problem- would you say anything?

My first world problem- would you say anything?

I'm invited to brunch next weekend at the home of a woman from my writer's group, with other women from the group. I need to confirm I'm coming and she mentioned that she is making an egg dish as the main course. She's very nice and we get along but aren't close friends where she'd know that much about me.

I don't eat eggs, the texture causes issues for me so it's not like some foods I don't like but can still manage to eat. But I am also not allergic (she asked.)

So do I say anything to her now via email or let it go and not eat that when I get there? I was going to offer to bring dessert but maybe something else I'd definitely eat? Am I being a jerk?

I would probably just bring another item that you would eat that's less dessert-y and leave it at that!

I don't eat eggs either so I would bring something, an app or dessert, something I know I would eat.

Bring something that you will eat. Plus, I would think she will have other food beside the egg dish. I would feel funny saying something

I would probably say something just letting her know that you cant eat eggs and you would bring a small plate of something for yourself... just so shes not like im supplying food why is this woman bringing food...

I am Gluten Free so i constantly have to bring something for myself just in case.

Bring something else. There's got to be other food there as well I'm assuming.

Yeah, this is what I'd do. I'm the same way, I don't do omelets, quiches, none of it. So I would have to bring something else.

I wouldn't say anything but would show up with something like a dozen danishes, bagels, etc.

There's no way I would say something. I don't really think it's okay to say that to the host because she is likely to feel obligated to make something else.

I would just bring something.

or ask if you can bring someone, or tell her you would love to bring something to share, what does she need etc,

I never just bring food items to someone's party if they have planned the meal without checking.

I would not say anything.

At the same time, if I were the host, I would want to know. I would want to accommodate my guests and serve something they would eat.

I am sure she will not serve just the egg dish.
