Waking up to Pee
DD is 3 yrs old and potty trained about 5 months. I do put night time pull ups on her just in case (my 1st DS still pees at night in his pull up) She is still in a crib she loves it, and I liked her being confined b/c she will roam I feel. Anyway I need advice. In the beginning she would wake up to pee one time or two times at night. Now it can be 4-5 times and 2-4 of those times she doesn't really have to go. They could be within a 2 hour window. I cant not take her and discourage her from going. But I feel like sometimes it is habit, then she needs extra hugs, her blanket fixed, more hugs.... I am going to limit the fluids after dinner. She drinks a ton of water all daylong & I feel like she can go on demand at any point. She is too young to be going in their by herself half asleep even if she wasn't in a crib. (toilet is high) Is there anything I can do to avoid this constant wake up's that aren't warranted. should I bring her to the bathroom right before I go to sleep? Or maybe get her out of crib and teach her how to go herself, Don't get me wrong I am super proud of her and would rather this then changing sheets BUT I think now she is catching onto they will take me out as soon as I say I have to go pee. So now she maybe using it just to get out, get extra hugs, have her blanket fixed, etc. It doesn't take long & most of time she will go back to sleep but its becoming more frequent and less really having to go

Waking up to Pee
I would try waking her before you go to bed, but it doesn't sound like that is going to help. This sounds more like a pattern created for comfort and less to do with pee. If it were me Id put the pull up on her and not look back. I think her having a good nights sleep is more important than peeing at night time. But others may feel differently.

Re: Waking up to Pee
I would convert her bed and encourage her to go by herself. I would leave the bathroom light on and have a night light on in the hall.

this exactly
I would try the bed and tell her when she needs to go she can go all by herself - this may discourage her from getting up so much. but if she knows you will go to her every time she will likely still wake up 4-5 times per night bc she wants you.
I would still keep her in a pullup though so you dont have do deal with accidents.
edited bc i just saw what you mentioned about her not being able to go alone...i would get nightlights (we have two, 1 in the bathroom and 1 in the hallway) and get a stool so she can go by herself.

Waking up to Pee
When my 3yo asks to go I usually do take her and she'll go at least a little. After that if she asks again I say "no, you just went." I put her right back in her bed and that's that. Being consistent with that for a while, she doesn't ask anymore. It was definitely a ploy to get out of bed so I didn't feel the need to take her more than once after bedtime. She can easily make it through the night without going and doesn't wear a pullup.

Re: Waking up to Pee
Sounds like an attention seeking wake up. Just hang in there. Be cool when she wakes (no extra hugs/kisses) but take her. It will stop.
