Has anyone gone and had success? LOL
I went once before and felt like we walked around all over and saw nothing. It was a long time ago, maybe we went to the wrong area.
I am determined to go again and to have fun Please tell me what you did if you went and had a good time.

I'm following this. I am going Sunday with a friend. Can anybody tell me where it is exactly? There is no address on their website.

I always find it boring and WAY too crowded to be honest. The parking is a nightmare also!

Theatre three does a great production of the Christmas carol play though. We definitely love that!

Re: Port Jeff-Charles Dickens Fest
It's basically just a bunch of people walking around dressed like Dickens characters. Unless you go to the actual events (some of them cost $), there isn't much going on except toasting marshmallows down in the one parking lot, and the parade on Sunday evening. You can find the schedule of events on the Port Jeff Village website. It does get crowded, but it can be fun. One year we decided to see the show at Theater Three, it was good.

I've gone many times, especially the last few. Truthfully there really isn't all that much to do. Mostly just walking around Pt Jeff like any other day. You can see Santa but the line is ALWAYS insane. There is a nice indoor Xmas Tree display too but other than that, the isn't all that much exciting and fun stuff. It's mostly just cute seeing the old time looking folks walking around.
And I agree with the above poster, parking can be hell.

So is it worth taking the hour and 15 minute drive do you think? Me and a girlfriend were hoping to make an afternoon of it.

I don't think it is personally. I live 5 minutes away and I don't care for it.

Same I live a few min away it’s awful. I didn’t even know about it and I got married in port Jeff the weekend of the dickens festival... awful parking situation. Luckily it poured my wedding day so it wasn’t as crowded as it could have been. Will be staying far away from town this weekend. I never found it interesting, only good thing is the play but it’s not worth the drive or the hassle, so many other things you can do unless you were planning to see the show, then it would be worth it

FYI the play is also playing whole rest of the month too so you don't have to go just this weekend!

I agree, I wouldn't drive all that way for it. There are lots of great places to eat however, it's impossible to get a table this weekend so it makes being there less appealing.
