My first was a girl and I know we had sex a few days before ovulation. Then we had some trouble conceiving our second so we had sex all the way up until O and after, I wasn't taking any chances of missing it. We had a boy. We had a little trouble again with the third so I did the same thing as the second one and we are having another boy. So it seems like it might have been true that doing it a few days before O will have a better chance of a girl. I've read the logic behind it is the male sperm are faster but die sooner and the girl sperm are slower but last longer. Who knows! Good luck!!

They say sex a few days before ovulation yields girls, but then what would explain all the babies born from IUIs that are girls? (An IUI is a procedure that puts the sperm right where it needs to be at the time of ovulation) If the timing logic were true, a majority of IUI pregnancies would be boys, which just isn’t the case.
I think ultimately it’s 50/50.

My first was an IUI and it was a boy. My second I used an ovulation predictor kit and had sex based on that. I had a girl. ETA: I think its a crapshoot.

probably just luck but we tried for a girl and were successful lol. DTD prior to ovulation only, not on or after ovulation. They also say shallow penetration favors girls. Who knows but it did work for us. Our boy was conceived right after or on the day of ovulation.
