Bed wetting
DC is almost 7 and has never been dry over night. We've tried working on it this summer by waking her up 2x every night to use the bathroom. But it hasn't improved, and she's so out of it at night, I don't think it's "teaching" her anything.
Any suggestions? We do have a dr appt coming up just to be sure that everything is ok and there's not a physical reason for the bed wetting. I've been reading about this "Therapee"... it's pricey and gets a few bad reviews. But overall it gets great reviews...TIA!

Re: Bed wetting
A bedtime alarm like Wetstop3. It worked for DS, who was turning 6, in a week. The alarm just teaches them to wake when they have the urge. Lots of moms said they used it after I was talking about how amazing it was. I got the idea off a mom from here!

Bed wetting
The brain needs to mature. For some kids it takes longer than others. It's literally a hormone that's gets transmitted to wake you up to go to the bathroom. It's good you have an appointment to check things out. I know there are medications that can be taken as well. My pediatrician was not concerned until my DS would be around 8 he said. My DS was night trained around 5, but that was 2.5 years after being Day trained.

I was going to say the same thing but my ped. didn't think it was issue until about 10. I know one of my dd's friends, at 11, still wears something at night.

Re: Bed wetting
Just adding: my ped... a very experienced Dr had said the same. Hormone is ADH. It doesn't wake you... but it does "prevent" peeing so much. We have bed wetting in our family history & it's worse with boys. She specializes in this... but wrote down the name of the alarm when I told her about our success.
Give the alarm a try. I think it works really well.
Thanks again... to the LIF mom who originally mentioned it in my post years ago!!!

Bed wetting
we did well with the chummy alarm - had tohave all the alarms maxed out - it worked in less than 2 weeks - it had to change his sleep pattern - waking up did nothing for us too
