Dental Implant Pain

Is it normal to have throbbing pain a week and a half after a dental implant was placed? I don't remember it being like this for an implant I had done last year. I feel like I have to keep taking Advil around the clock because once it wears off the pain comes back. It is especially bad in the middle of the night.

I never went through with getting one but I don't think it should be throbbing that bad after a week and a half.
Maybe still sore I can see, but not a severe throbbing pain where you have to take motrin round the clock.
I would call your dentist and see what he says
