“The only thing giving a platform to these hate groups is the media itself and the fake news,” Trump said.
“I really think they don’t like our country. I really believe that,” he added.
He lied and said cameras at the rally were being turned off as live-streams of the speech on cable news networks continued to roll. He specifically called out CNN, which aired Trump’s speech until the end.
He omitted the fact that he said there was blame "on many sides" when he restated what he said about Charlottesville. Convenient, since he basically rewrote the most controversial part of what he said.
He blamed everyone for his problems... except for his own incompetence. It's the media's fault, it's McConnell's fault, it's McCain's fault, it's Flake's fault, etc, etc....
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who served both Republican and Democratic presidents from John Kennedy to Barack Obama, said on CNN that he found the speech "downright scary and disturbing."
"I really question his ability to be, his fitness to be in this office and I also am beginning to wonder about his motivation for it. Maybe he is looking for a way out," Clapper said.
And of course, he's the greatest at everything...
"Now, you know, I was a good student. I always hear about the elite. You know, the elite. They're elite? I went to better schools than they did. I was a better student than they were. I live in a bigger, more beautiful apartment, and I live in the White House, too, which is really great."
It seems as though he is intentionally trying to separate the US into "us" vs "them". The "us" being anyone who worships him, and "them" is the 250 million other Americans who just want a competent leader who is trying to help the country.
I've never seen or heard of a sitting politician of any level work this hard at being so divisive. I understand that on the campaign trail, but once you're elected, you *supposed* to support everyone in your constituency.

So many lies, so many misleading and insensitive statements it was sickening.
In addition to the above, he said hardly anyone was outside protesting when there were thousands who peacefully protested. Unfortunately it seemed to turn ugly after the speech ended. Looked like a few hundred inside (dh said the room looked as big as middle school auditorium).
He called protesters thugs but then talked about how they don't try to come inside bc his supporters are bigger and implied they could beat them up. Oh yeah, and all he wants is peace and unity.
He implied he will pardon that sheriff but wouldn't last night bc he didn't want to cause trouble.
He's going to pass huge tax cuts but if he doesn't it's the democrats fault.

can someone explain to me why he is still holding campaign rallies 
this is normal right after you win you usually don't need to have campaign rallies till election time?
Why is everyone not concerned/questioning that he is wasting time and tax payer dollars on this?!

Because he is the epitome of a pure narcissist. He *needs* that constant approval, and the only way to get it is by having rallies where only his supporters attend. He's definitely not getting it by doing his job...
Everyone *IS* concerned about all of the time and money he's spending, but there's not a whole lot anyone can do about it.
At least when he's at a rally, he's not antagonizing other countries (both allies and enemies), destroying the country, or making a fool of our nation on the global stage....

Not approve the funding bill. It's happened before, in 2013. Also, a couple of times in the 80's and 90's.
The budget bill is due very soon, so he could not sign that bill, and stop the budget money, effectively shutting down (parts of) the government. The current funding bill ends Oct. 1, so if there isn't a bill signed by then, that's when the gov't will shut down.

He's an incompetent, narcissistic, unhinged, ego maniac. I've never seen (or heard) anything like him. It's sad that he's so thin skinned and insecure that he needs the constant adoration of those around him and has to constantly tout everything about himself. It's truly pathetic. He sounded like a loud, dumb, ignorant fool last night. I was embarrassed for him, especially because he has yet to realize just what a joke he is yet.
