Which one is the best? Who does the polar express story? Is there anything else in the area to do?

There is a whole bunch of them. Essex gets rave reviews every year. We did Saratoga for 2 years in a row. Dd loved it. First year we did coach which I highly recommend as there was more space for her to jump and dance around. Last year we did premium and hated how squished it felt with the tables.

Does Essex do the polar express story? The website says they only read the story the night before Christmas?

No, Essex does not. If you google Polar Express train ride, the licensed sites come up

I have only been to the one in Essex, and LOVE it. We did do the North Fork Trolley in Riverhead, and all I have to say is dont waste your $$$ on it.

Re: Polar express
I always want to go but it seems like an awfully long drive for just a train ride. Has anyone done other activities while.l near any of the trains?

I was going to do that one. Thank you! It seems really expensive. We did the Mystic one and the one in New Jersey. We loved the Mystic one so much better. Ill have to look into the other ones.

Re: Polar express
We did the one is Essex last year. I honestly don't get what the hype is about. There's like a few lights along the way - like very few, some hot chocolate and Santa. Seemed like a long way to go and a lot of money for a pretty lame ride. My kids were not really entertained.
Definitely not going again.

That's why we loved Newport. So much to do! It was a super fun weekend.
