Monetary Gift for First Birthday
If you were giving a monetary gift for a first birthday, how much would you give for a close friend?
I'm set on giving money, not clothes or toys.

I am cheap I guess. I would do $50 maybe $75 but that's pushing it.
I tend to spend about $30-$40 on brihdays for really really good friends kids.
Anyone else I spend no more than $25

Side note- kind of off the topic- but DD had a birthday party earlier in the summer for her school friends.
One girl- that she is friends with but not super close, and certainly not BEST friends with- gave her a Toys R Us Gift card for $100
I almost fainted!
Who gives that much for a classmate's birthday party??
Nuts!!!

I gave my best friends $50 gift cards at their kids 1st bday parties... I have too many kids in my life to spend $100 for bdays!

$100 for a close friend or family member.
DD didn't get any money for her first birthday. Her party was in the house and fairly simple, though, so that may have had something to do with it. Most people brought a toy or a few books.
