taking a taxi home after sedation/surgery
I have to get oral surgery on Friday and will be put under. I had a ride home until recently when DH realized he has to work OT so now i'm trying to find other options (I can't reschedule). I have a ride there. I asked my FIL if he can drive me home but if he can't, I may have to take a taxi/uber. Does anyone know if a doctor's office will release you to a taxi/uber? I called the office and the girl that answered the phone said she didn't think so, but wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this.

I don't think they will. In my experience, the office required that I had someone waiting for me during the procedure and a ride home.

One time I had to take a cab home after a procedure (endoscopy) and they let me sit in the waiting room for awhile (at least an hour, if not longer), then let me go. Perhaps that is an option.

They will not release you to a taxi cab.
