Ecology Center in Holtsville or Smithtown Nature Center
Which is better for a 4 year old. Open to other suggestions as well. Looking for place where animals are treated well. Went to White Post once and not happy with what we saw. Thanks, open to other suggestions

Same here. Other ideas would be Suffolk county farm in yaphank or Quogue Wildlife refuge.

Ecology Center in Holtsville or Smithtown Nature Center
We went once to the Holstville Ecology Center and it was great for 1.5 to 2 hours. Just yesterday we went to the Queens County Zoo and it was a lot of fun! Very clean and well kept. Took about 35ish minutes to get there -- sea lions, coyotes, bears, cows, sheep, chicken, pigs, horses, bobcat, bison, lynx, bird aviary. Right next door is a little amusement park with kids rides (roller coaster, spinning tea cups, train, race cars). They are lots of shaded areas in the zoo with picnic tables and you can pack and bring in a cooler. They also have a playground! Bring quarters for the animal feed dispensers.
