Capital Grille is consistently good
Del Friscos is way overrated and overpriced IMO and most of the people I work with who go there with clients agree.
Food is eh

I am so glad to hear this because I thought I and the people I work with were nuts.
The way people rave about this place and we are always like .. bleh.
Over over priced for the food.
But I felt like we were the only ones on the planet who felt that way

its sh!t steak. a lot of places people like suck. Im also done with mortons. all these stupid chains need to go. only reason why I go is because I have gift certificates.

I've done Delmonicos and the Capital Grill and they were ok. I'd try something else (but, it sounds like not DelFriscos lol).

That's what I meant. Most people I know rave too.
But most real foodies say it stinks.
I think it's more of a tourist thing or a oh it's a "trendy" name.
The food- not great and the prices are insane for the sub par food.
Definite skip
ETA- the food at Bobby Van's is actually much better

Steakhouse Restaurants
For restaurant week I've had good experience at Smith and Wollinsky. Otherwise for restaurant week I'd have to pass on most because you won't get to try what they are really known for.

Never been to del fresco but if it's anything like morton's I wouldn't like it. That place is awful.

And while we're on the topic, I can't stand Uncle Jack's either. I think the menu is terrible and I can never find anything I want to order there

I think the one most people rave about is in the city. I don't have a problem with the one in Huntington, but the one in the city IS remarkably better.

If i had to choose from this list, because Peter Lugers is the best but would never do restaurant week, i would go with smith and wollensky. But during restaurant week, at steakhouses, you never really try the best they have.
